Turning one is serious business - and has kept me seriously BUSY! We have also been fighting some major ear infections, trying to stop nursing, and in general just hopping with activity. Kingston rarely stops moving during his waking hours (which are many) so I spend much of my time while he sleeps cleaning up the result of his "exploration" during this time :) Here is a little bit of what we've been up to:
Sometimes you have to get INTO the basket to get the toy you really want...
This was his morning hair the other day. It was early - but you can't start off the day with a grumpy attitude when you see your sweet babies bed head!
For Kingston's birthday we got him a ball pit - which he enjoys - and will enjoy more when we get more balls! For now he like climbing in and out - and throwing the balls into every room of the house. I should seriously think through our toy choices from now on.
Last weekend we celebrated his birthday with friends and family in KC - and this picture pretty much sums up how he spent most of the day. Crowds and noise are a little too much stimulation for him sometimes, and all he wanted to do was walk up and down the hallway with his push toy - so we let him. It's his party - he can cry if he wants to! (later, we realized part of the fussiness was due to the ear infection that won't go away!)
I could just eat him up....

Gotta love boys! The throwing in the high chair stage is a hard one...I don't know that I have any good tips for you there. We have a ball pit and my one suggestion for you is to make picking up a game early on...don't always do it for him. Brody and I played pick up a lot and it really paid off because he does a good job and Colton (who wants to be just like his big brother) is starting to do a great job as well. It helps you so much if you will teach them...even though it takes more time in the beginning than if you were to do it yourself. Kingston's a major cutie!
