We always do our costume planning at the last minute - I think because we hope to not be sucked into the expense of Halloween costumes. So despite seeing a number of cute costumes in weeks past we told ourselves that Kingston could just wear his Superman outfit and we didn't need to purchase an overpriced (albeit cute) cuddly costume for him. Until today at noon - when I realized that the years I get to choose to dress him in something ridiculous and fuzzy are all to short, and that we should spend the money to get him a costume. So - we got a cute little panda outfit - and I went as a bee (a costume I have worn a number of time before - and that Nate has worn previously as well). Kingston isn't really a big fan of crowds where he can't get down and crawl, but since our Harvest festival was held at our church, we hung out in the nursery and played once he's had his fill of party fun. Here are a few pics of our night of fun:
Me and my little panda!
The hood stayed on longer than I anticipated. The mittens did not...
Pandas are very curious creatures
I anticipated a bit of costume meltdown. It was very toasty and too large for him to practice his (almost) walking skills so I packed the superman costume as a back up - good thing! He was so much happier when he was free of the cuddly/fuzzy costume restraints!
Ever Superman has to stop and refuel...
Kinston had a few firsts tonight as well. He had a bite or two of my chocolate bar (which he was pretty indifferent about) and some of my caramel sauce from my caramel apple. Which he LOVED. We had already gotten suited up to leave (because Superman of course wears an MU outfit in the cold over his spandex) when the caramel sugar rush hit - so we stayed to play a few more minutes. He was a wild man with these plates and the kitchen set in the nursery!
