8 Months!

We celebrated Kingston's 8 month birthday in the ER this week - he was having trouble breathing due to croup (see post below for details!) . I cannot believe 8 months has gone by already - it makes me so sad that he is growing up so quickly, but at the same time I love each new stage and the developments that accompany it. So here are some updates in the life of my little man:

Sleeping: Sigh. Sometimes he sleeps great - but rarely. Being sick he actually did better than I expected sleeping 8-9 hours straight. He has started taking a paci (YEA!!!) which helps put him back to sleep, but there are still nights he is up frequently. He is taking better naps and we have moved to a twice daily nap schedule. Someday I will sleep...someday.

Eating: Kingston doesn't turn down anything that touches his lips. He has started eating chunks of banana and is quite good at getting puffs in his mouth - he likes them now! We are starting to move to more solid foods, although I am proceeding very cautiously - I am so afraid of him choking. We did start meats a few weeks ago (from a jar) and he likes them even though they smell like cat food. I think they are a little more filling and have helped him to sleep a little better. We will be trying a few new foods each week - this week we will try avocado and maybe some noodles!

Motor skills: Kingston is a wiggly little boy - he is constantly moving, reaching, grabbing, jumping or trying to scoot somewhere. He will scoot backwards and even does this weirdPilate's move that looks like a push up when he tries to get his knees underneath him to craw. He LOVES to jump! He does take time to stop and give plenty of kisses - which I love!

Likes: He loves jumping, playing, feeding himself, books, musical toys, cups,  bathtime, being outside and of course his mommy and daddy.

Dislikes: Being changed (diapers and clothes), sitting still, sleeping, tummy time(although he is getting better about this!), having sunscreen applied, wearing hats, being wiped off after eating(is he all boy or what?!) and being confined to the carseat.

I think that sums it up - Kingston's personality is really starting to show through and he is a fun loving and affectionate little boy who loves to see how things work - he is so sweet and we love him dearly! More updates soon!
