We made it through cold and flu season unscathed - a near miracle when you consider how many kids we are around and that babies are so susceptible to illness. So when Kingston awoke with a barking cough on Monday morning I was a bit surprised - but had read enough to know that it was probably croup. I got into the pediatrician right away, who confirmed that it was the dreaded croup and gave me some medicine, and instructions to spend time breathing in warm air from a steamy shower and cool air from the freezer. So Kingston and I bunkered down at home all week and spent hours in the bathroom and snuggling for naps. I also slept on the floor next to his crib so I could hear if he started choking (he had choked on Monday on the pedi so badly that I had to stop the car and flip him over and hit his back!). Here are a few pics showing that despite a long week - we did have a little fun!
I cannot tell you how much he loved breathing in cool air from the freezer - he would kick his legs and squeal - and try to pull everything out!
This face cracks me up - he was so sad the first few days he was sick (this was after we returned from the ER - he was wheezing heavily - but ended up being just fine!)
We had to be creative to entertain Kingston for all the steamy showers - after all we were in the bathroom about 2 hours a day. He loved playing with the baby in the mirror -and kept kissing himself!
He thinks he is so funny!
He discovered the drawers and cabinets - and LOVES them! I think I am in trouble when he starts crawling. I started baby proofing this weekend!
