An Eventful Week

We had a busy baby week in the Jones home. Parents as teachers came to visit tuesday morning, and then we went to our new pediatrician tuesday afternoon for our 6 month check up and shots. Both assessments confirmed that Kingston is right on target for all his developmental milestones, with a slight advancement in the area of verbal development! He isn't great at sitting up on his own (when he reaches for toys he often ends up toppling over!) and still hasn't mastered rolling from back to belly (he tries to lead the roll with is head -which isn't going to get that chubby baby body moving lol!) but we are working on those things daily. We survived this round of shots and don't get another until around 12 months - whew! We also, at the advice of our old pediatrician (whom we loved but had to leave for insurance reasons) had been weaning Kingston off his reflux medication. He hasn't been spitting up more necessarily, but has been a horrible napper and night sleeper. So at the advice of the new pedi, we changed medications and kept him on a full dose - and I think its helping! We also have had him sleeping in the car seat because the incline is 30 degrees - which is recommended for a reduction in the pain of infant reflux- and he has slept through the night TWICE!!!! I am so excited! He has also been taking hour to two hour naps - SERIOUSLY - I am in heaven. Absolute heaven. I have more energy than I have in months and I feel so on top of things. Which leads me to a confession and an (somewhat) urgent plea. There is a product called the "Nap Nanny". (See below)

I am currently coveting the nap nanny (this is my confession). I am also wondering if anyone has one I could borrow/rent/buy (the urgent plea). Basically this would allow me to not have to haul the carseat in and out of the crib, undo the straps etc. - and I just feel bad for my poor baby spending all that time in his seat. Plus I think he would like the snuggly fabric ;)  So if you, or anyone you know has a Nap Nanny - let me know!!!! In other news Kingston is 18lbs 10oz and 28 inches long - 60th percentile in weight and 95th percentile in height! He is so much fun as he explores new things each day. He is SO curious - he is so focused and intent on observing his environment. He has also started using his Baby Einstein jumper to the fullest extent. I tried to capture the crazy jumping on video (I was sure he was going to rocket out of it earlier today!) but he slowed down a bit when I whipped out the camera - anyways enjoy the video - and let me know if you find a Nap Nanny!

I'll get out the news you need to know first - I don't have a nap nanny...sorry:( But, I read your blog, and had to chuckle a little. Isn't it crazy to think that just 8 or so years ago 5 girls were all living it up at MapleTree never thinking about naps, reflux, or sleep at night?!?!
