A few of my favorite things...

Kingston turns 6 months tomorrow - how the time has flown! I remember holding him just days after being born and thinking about all that would be happening when he was 6 months old - how he would be sleeping through the night, how our schedule would be perfected, how my days would be predictable and easy. None of these things have been accomplished in the way I imagined - but I wouldn't have it any other way! One of the things I've learned is that being a mom isn't about having ultimate control over your child - its about leading them and guiding them in a way that is best for them - which takes time, patience, and much help from the Lord. This means my days may not always go as planned, and that Kingston may not respond on my timetable - but as long as I am doing my best to lead him in the way that is best for him, I have to trust that everything will fall into place in the right time. I love being a mom - and I love Kingston so much it almost hurts! While I could go on and on about all of my favorite things about him, I will list just 6 in honor of his six months of life:

1. He gives kisses now and it just about melts me heart - I kiss the daylights out of my baby because I know the day will come all too soon when he is too cool to let me kiss him.
2. I love the way his head smells - partly because I put his bedtime lotion on it, and partly because babies just innately smell great (well...parts of babies smell great lol!)
3. I love his curious personality - he is so interested in the way things work - so of course I am convinced he is brilliant!
4. I love how he smiles so easily and often - he is one happy little boy!
5. He has monkey feet - he grabs anything you place in front of him with both his hands and feet (before shoving it into his mouth!). His toes are also constantly moving - according to Nate this is a trait he gets from me.
6. I love his facial expressions - he makes a million different faces - some of which are distinctly Nate or I - it is too cute!

Happy 6 months to Baby K - pics to follow soon!
