Catching Up!

A serious session of catch up is in order. Its been 3 weeks since I've touched the blog, although I've been thinking of different posts for at least the last 2. Spring is always a busy time for us, but this year has been especially wild! I did have some great pics, but they appear to have been lost in the abyss of the Iphoto files - so I'll try to post them at Kingston's 18 month update (which is in 2 weeks....unbelievable!) Here is the rundown of our recent activities:

After returning from Grammie Mueth's in Illinois Nate took our students to a two day conference in Saint Louis, and Kingston and I weathered a rough weekend at home. The next two weeks we had 4 days of revival each week with a speaker named Ken Freeman (who spoke at a local church) so we were gone quite a bit. Whew - so busy we couldn't catch our breath! In light of that, Nate came down with Influenza A and was out of commission for about 5 days. Kingston and I then both caught the same virus, despite having the flu shot in the fall. Luckily we got well enough to travel to KC for two exciting events!

The first event was a gathering of a some of the fabulous friends I attended college with. We try to get together once a year (which isn't nearly enough) but we enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship. The only thing we wanted was MORE TIME! It went way to quickly, as the three of us with children were on tight schedules - I was so blessed to spend time with my sweet friends and can't wait for our next "Roomie Reunion"!!

We were also in town that same weekend for Nate's brother's wedding! We are so excited Shauna, Gracen and Threzden are part of our family! I had some cute pics, but they were lost in the Iphoto app - so I'll work on posting them. It was a sweet and beautiful private ceremony, and we loved being there. Church was cancelled in Mount Vernon the next day due to snow (yes, in March - thank you Missouri) so Nate got to stay with us and attend his Dad's service in KC - such a blessing!

Finally this weekend was our DNow here in Mount Vernon. Ken Freemen, the above mentioned Evangelist/revival speaker, was the speaker for our students. We had 32 students come to Christ, many with decisions of dedication, and others who made the choice to start making better choices in their lives!!! It was an amazing weekend to say the least! In years past I have been Nate's right hand "man" and helped with all the details and planning - and I think I was always too uptight about everything going "just right". This year I was busy with my full time ministry (a.k.a. Kingston) so I didn't get to help as much as in the past with the planning, but I did get to attend the weekend as a cabin leader and counselor. Nate's mom and grandparents came to watch Kingston so I could be gone overnight, and it was such a blessing! I have never been so excited to spend the weekend with students - I could have cared less about the details of the weekend, I just had a blast loving on my 9th grade girls! They were so sweet and blessed me beyond belief! 13 of the students who accepted Christ friday were baptized saturday in the spring river at the campground we stayed at - such an incredible (and COLD) experience - below is a pic of Nate baptising one of our students!
