Finally...

For months we have been battling to stay well, and after a particularly harrowing last week I am here to report that (for now)that my baby is WELL! His teeth are taking a break from trying to burst through his gums, the croup is gone, we are ear infection free, and I am SO EXCITED! The last few days I have been slacking a bit on my household chores because we are having so much fun! Kingston has enjoyed playing on his new chair (see photo above), playing chase, getting into a little bit of trouble, reading, and running everywhere! Here are a few things he has been up to that have kept me busy/made me wonder or made me laugh hysterically:

1. It took him about 3 seconds to learn how to climb from his new chair onto the couch
2. He jumps (yes, JUMPS) off of said chair onto the floor and thinks it is hilarious
3. He was throwing his babydoll (much to Nate's chagrin I purchased him the manliest baby doll available) and laughing. Sadistically. Should we ever have a girl, she will have to fight to survive.
4. He has apparently grown in the last week and can now reach a number of things he could not before. Including some candles on the sofa table. Which he likes to try to eat. A number of them now have teeth marks.
5. He pulled said sofa table over on himself thursday. The goose egg was huge. Luckily it was gone the next day, and he has avoided the table since then. Except for the candles.
6. I often sing Jesus Loves Me as I rock him to sleep. If he is trying to keep from falling asleep (which is always) he will occasionally shake his head "no no no" when I say the "yes" Jesus loves me. It cracks me up so much I often have to take a breather from the rocking, and return when I am more under control.
7. It melts my heart that he asks for Jesus Loves Me while being rocked - if I start with another song he will look at me and say "Jesus" - melts my heart!
8. He can make the noises for cars, trucks, "brrr" for the cold, sheep, cats, dogs, cows and ducks. The child will NOT say cup, eat or anything else particularly helpful to our everyday life. At least the noises are super cute.
9. We have a Praise Baby video with one song with a number of duck photos in the middle of the song. At the beginning of the song he starts yelling "duck" very loudly and doesn't stop until he sees them. VERY LOUDLY.
10. He claps when people on TV or in crowds clap. We attended a basketball game the other day, and when the cheerleaders would clap or dance he would follow suit!

Finally, there are a number of things I am looking forward to at the moment - seeing friends in KC soon, going home to STL at the end of february, etc, but I am SUPER excited to go on my first overnight trip with Nate - BABY FREE! I am doing a daily countdown because I am so pumped - more details to follow!
