We have spread out our Christmas celebrations this year - we saw my Dad and Linda over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Jones side of the family during the actual week of Christmas, and will go visit my mom and sister at the end of next week. We had a great time with the Jones family, but things were quite different than expected this year! We normally have a huge celebration with Nate's entire family on Christmas Eve (this is one of my MOST favorite yearly events) however due to the blizzard like conditions in KC most of the family couldn't make it - but we had a great time with those that did (Dyers and Fisherings we missed you too!). Again, photos with toddlers are nearly impossible!

Christmas morning we had a great time unwrapping gifts with Kingston - he receives a fair amount of spoiling from all the grandparents, and loves every moment of it. He thought his basketball goal was great!

His most exciting moments were not about toys, but the paper and bags they came in! We had a great morning and were anticipating more family visiting in the late afternoon (if the roads cleared) however Kingston started puking like crazy! Thanks to much prayer we avoided a trek to the ER, but it was a close call. Luckily the virus was short lived, and by evening he was downing large volumes of toast! But not before passing the virus on the me - I think I was covered in puke at least 10 times! (yuck yuck yuck)

Nate's parents house is the one on the right - the street leading towards their drive was too slippery to drive down so we braved the icy hill by foot - and Kingston loved the beautiful snow! Had he not just been sick we would have played in the snow - but decided to give him a chance to recover instead.

As I said earlier, our time in KC was much different than anticipated (one never hopes for the stomach flu or missing out on seeing family and friends) but we were so thankful to be safe and healthy that it didn't matter. We were together celebrating the birth of Jesus and that's what mattered most! We are gearing up for Kingston's tubes to be put in on monday (prayers would be much appreciated!) and hoping for some relief for the little guy - he also has at least 2 teeth coming in so the last few days have been a little rough. Hopefully you will soon see a post, in all caps, that boasts about his wonderful sleep habits! Blessings and Happy New Year!
