Ruby is O-N-E!

How has a year flown by so quickly? Here are some of my favorite things about my Ruby Sue:

She loves to play - especially with her brother. She likes baby dolls, trucks, cups, loud toys that sing, books and anything her brother has. She plays well by herself and with other kids. She doesn't have one particular toy that she hangs on to - but she likes anything with animals or Sesame Street characters.

She is quite the talker - she says mama, dada, moo, baa, balk (for a chicken), ball, brabra (for brother), hi and I think she said more today. I think my favorite noise is when she makes chicken sounds - its just  too cute!

This girl knows what she wants. Just this week she has begun pointing and doing the sign for "more". She usually uses both these gestures for some type of food - she loves to eat! She eats everything - meat, beans, fruit and veggies - she even loves salsa!

Ruby is a mover and a shaker. She took a few steps at 11 months, and now she is walking everywhere! We have played chase with Kingston (while holding her) since she was a few months old - and now she LOVES that she can be part of the game on our own. She loves to race down the hall, and cackles with laughter when we follow. (note: this is also part of her constant quest to get into the toilet.)

Ruby isn't a great sleeper, and she's still pretty attached to me (when you spend all day every day with your mom what do you expect?) but I know these things are short lived. So I try to embrace the snuggles and her sweet kisses - I know all too well these days are numbered!

Ruby has been a healthy baby until the last month - ear infections have hit her hard. She was so sick on her birthday we had to reschedule her party - hopefully that is the end of illness for her! Below are some pictures from the last week or so:

Birthday celebrations (while sick) with Grammie and Grandma and Grandpa Jones

There is no doubt that girls are more dramatic from the start - she was crying because he wasn't opening the baby doll box fast enough!

She loves cookie monster!

Birthday baby :)
Carnival Birthday party - love this girl

I had to wake her up so she could celebrate and she wasn't too happy - but she did love the put put golf game. Silly girl!

The icing was a hit

Parties are fun  -but at the end of the day, snuggles and laughs with her brother are all she wanted!

Happy First Birthday my Ruby Sue! I can't wait to see what God has in store for your next year!
