FAQ'S

Hello bloggy world! I have taken quite a hiatus from regular updating. Somehow, with moving, being involved in new ministry plans, getting to know new people (and a new city) along with seeing friends/family/sweet Kingston - I can't seem to catch up with my "to do" list! An update with pics will come soon - and by soon, I mean I am aiming for Kingston's birthday post to be on time (which by the way...I may need therapy to complete!!). We get a lot of questions about life these days that are pretty much the same...so I thought I would answer a few and just do a general update!

What is our living situation? We are still living with Nate's parents. They are certianly being given much grace to endure all of our quirks and crazy schedules - not to mention Kingston's love of VERY early mornings!

What is the status on our house? NOT SOLD YET! So if you would like to purchase a home in Mt. Vernon MO - we can hook you up. We are trying to be patient, and are so very lucky to be living rent free. We don't have the stress that so many people do when relocating, and this does not excape my attention.

What will we do when our house sells? We would love to live close to the church in the Blue Springs area. We can't wait to be closer to our students and our new church home. It will make it a little easier for me to particiapte in our students lives on a daily basis (and save quite a bit on our gas expenses!)

How are things going at Plaza? Great! I know you wouldn't expect me to say anything but great here on the blog, but I am completely genuine in my reply. We love the excitement and dilligence of our adult leadership team (they are INCREDIBLE!!), the friendliness and leadership qualities of our students, and the overall attitude and vision of our church. It is a place that is easy for Nate to serve, and he is getting to rework most of the ministry from the ground up - exciting, but certainly no small task.

What is coming up this fall? If I haven't mentioned it yet, our fall schedule is INSANE. Crazy. My sister and my best friend from childhood (and to this day) are both getting married - that means about 4 trips to St. Louis between now and the end of November! I am so thrilled for them both, and so honored to be part of this wonderful time in their lives. We are also going to Mount Vernon for the annual Apple Butter Makin Days festival, celebraing Kingston's birthday, going on church leadership retreats and Nate is going to Ireland for 9 days! Whew! I am tired just typing all this! Nate has the amazing opportunity to join our dear friends the Hayes' to Ireland as a part of a mission team working with church planters there. While we will miss him dearly, there is no way I could let him pass this up - we know God will continue to work in our lives, as well as in the lives of those he is going to minister to and with.

Can you believe Kingston is going to be two? Um - NO. I could actually cry about it if I had the time to sit and think about it long enough. My compuer popped up a random picture of him last night at about 3 months and I almost lost it. I love so many things about each new phase he enters as he grows up - but I won't ever get over the fact that once a stage passes we can't go back. Newborn, cooing, just walking, toddler years - before I know it he's going to be playing Little league and in plays, going to school etc - I wish I could somehow freeze time right now and just keep him small and innocent!

How is Kingston? Fabulous. Opinionated, michevious, independent, sweet, brilliant and teething. Eye teeth are my nemesis. He is cutting tooth number 7 since we have moved, and I haven't slept in a stretch of more than four hours since June 1. 5 more teeth to go. Praise the Lord!

Am I working? Not really. I am going to buy books, do some random part time things, and hopefully avoid anything too scheduled. However, we are very comitted to our new Dave Ramsey budget, and I may try to do as much as possible before we have more children.

I think that is about it for now - more to come soon - thanks for keeping up with us and keeping us in your prayers!

My brain can only think in bullet points today, so:

* so glad for the updates. :)

* Wish you were going to Ireland with us. :)

* We've been praying for all your tons of transitions. :)

* Hudson has become the anti-sleeper and it always makes me think of you and wonder if you're awake at the random times that we are. :)

* Hope we can see you soon. :)
