Random Thoughts...

1. Today I made Kingston a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch (his new fav). Halfway through the sandwich I noticed mold growing on the crust of the bread - which is the part I had just taken a bite of. Belle, our golden retriever, was also a victim of the moldy sandwich. Its just like penicillin right?

2. I gave Kingston milk for his noon feeding and it went off without a hitch. The plan is to just be nursing in the morning and for bedtime by next friday. (prayers would be appreciated here).

3. My sweet husband got me two huge bags of candy corn and mallowcreme pumpkins. This is good for my morale (and energy levels) but bad for my diet. Who is going to choose carrots over candy corn for a snack? Not me...

4. I cleaned out most of my cabinets today while Kingston was pushing his grocery cart around the kitchen - I feel quite accomplished!

5. The birthday party prep is in full swing - in some ways I feel like I am planning a (much smaller but still crazy) wedding. I think Kingston's next full scale birthday party may be his 16th...or 21st... lets just say I am dreaming about cupcakes and elmo.

6. Our families come to town next friday for the birthday festivities - I cannot wait!

7. Apple Butter Makin Days begins next friday as well. Its a phenomenon unique to Mount Vernon that is difficult to explain. 45,000 people come to take part in the festivities - which include crafts, performances and of course, apple butter. This is a dreaded time in the life of the Jones home - it means lots of taco salad booth fundraising for our youth group. Basically 4 days of being covered in grease and smelling like meat.

8. I just started a new Bible study called "Becoming the Woman I Want to Be" by Donna Partow - and it is fabulous!

9. There are about 10 books I want/need to be reading about childrearing/discipline. Ugh. Where to start?

10. I am loving fall - the beautiful leaves, mums, hay bales and of course, my mallowcreme pumpkins. I love taking Kingston for walks in the crisp air.
