First of all I am a terrible blogger. I know. I have friends who blog consistently and who always have cute photos and anecdotes to accompany their posts - girls, you inspire me. I have been in the midst of a month long technology issue - and I kept waiting to blog until I got all my photos uploaded (which has still not happened!) and I figured if I kept waiting, Kingston would be a year old. There is another post below detailing our crazy June, and here is an update on my feisty, sweet and MOBILE 9 month old!!
Sleeping: Still not through the night. Comments and advice appreciated. His naps are getting better though - and he is rolling around in the middle of the night like a wild man - occasionally it wakes him up, but he's gotten pretty good at staying asleep while flopping all around!
Eating: We are venturing into the world of finger foods. Hallelujah - on one hand I am so ready to be done with baby food - we spend at least $30 a week on baby food (yes I use coupons and price shop - well, as much as you can in a town with two grocery stores!) and it will be so much cheaper when Kingston just eats with us. On the other hand, it is a challenge to find stuff for him to eat when we eat out, and it is a challenge for me to be a healthier cook when we eat at home. We are still in the middle of our transition - we do some regular foods, but I still feed him baby food too because he gets too tired (and sometimes frustrated) to eat all his foods on his own right now. Recently we have tried - cheese, hamburger, green beans, mac and cheese, avocado, banana, blueberries, Gerber cheese puffs, and mashed potatoes. If anyone has good veggie recipes (or healthy recipes in general) they would be much appreciated!
Language: He says Mama and knows who I am!!! It is so sweet - he calls for me when he is tired, hungry, and when he has an injury(keep reading and you will see why this is now included!). He also says Dada, ba ba(his favorite, but he doesn't take a bottle - so I have no idea what he means) he also makes the p,g, and motor boat sounds. He is LOUD - no sitting quietly in church for us!
Motor Development: The little man is crawling! AND pulling up - he figured it out last Sunday (July 5) and hasn't stopped moving since. He is particularly motivated by electronics -and chases down our phones and the laptop in record time. He has also sustained his first crawling injury - he pulled down a (small) decorative ladder in our living room onto his head! He cried, screamed my name, and had two sad little bruises for the rest of the week. I think his next words will be "down" or "do it myself". He is constantly wanting to explore and be on the move - I am one busy mama!
I am sure there is more that I am forgetting, but we are having a great time - Kingston has always been fun, but as he is able to interact increasing amounts we enjoy him even more. He loves books, things that move/play music/have lights, and has recently starting to love Baby Elmo. Luckily I have a high pitched voice and can relatively easily imitate him - which may be unfortunate for those around me, but lucky for Kingston. More pics and updates to come as I attempt to be a better blogger!

What a sweetie! Where does the time go? And the speech therapist in me is so proud of his language development!!
the only food advice I can offer is to tell you what we did....we bought a cheap food processor and whatever we had for dinner I just mashed it up in there a bit. Our kids could eat it with their hands or I would help them spoon feed it to themselves. maybe you could give that a try.
