Week 10

We are 3 weeks away from being done with the first trimester - yea!!! I am looking forward to an increase in energy and a decrease in morning sickness (which should happen around week twelve). I am still battling a bit of a cold (left over from the influenza virus) but it is steadily going away. I have also managed to get a cavity, which I am going to have filled friday (pray I don't puke on my dentist!!). So now that you know all of my ailments, on to the good news! By the end of the week the baby will be an inch and a half long (think a large grape!) and will be developing bones and cartilage and have indentations for knees and ankles. He or she will also be moving his/her arms, which have elbows, and are about the size of this 1. The tooth buds are forming this week and the stomach is already producing digestive juices, and the kidneys producing urine. Our baby is just busy growing these next few weeks - by week twelve he/she will more than have doubled in size from right now! I haven't really gained weight (although my diet of crackers, carbs and sprite probably hasn't been the best) however my pants are beginning to get a bit tight. It will be a stretch to make it to twelve weeks without doing some shopping - I find myself wishing I had more clothes with elastic waist bands, or that I could wear my pajama pants and sweats everywhere (don't worry, I'm not!). Love you all and thank you for your prayers!!
