Beats per minute that is! On friday we had my first doctor appointment and I got all the usual tests/etc. but also got a bonus - an ultrasound! My doctor wanted to make sure the baby had a heart beat - which it did, at 128 beats per minute (which is right about where it should be!). She said everything else looks good, and I left with tons of information about babies, the hospital, and enough classes available to take to make me feel like a college student again. Right now the baby is the size of a blueberry, and by the end of the week will be about the size of a raspberry! The baby is growing about a millimeter a day, but not necessarily in just height - it could be in arms, legs etc. so it can be hard to measure. Also the fingers/toes are beginning to differentiate, and of course all of those teeny organs are busily developing and maturing. I still feel like puking about 80% of the time, and could sleep the days away easily ;) If we get the 20" of snow possible starting tomorrow, I may get an easy week! My sickness and fatigue should improve by 12 weeks when the placenta takes over and my body adjusts more. Also I am still feeling sick -thankfully I dont think it is influenza...just a pesky cough and cold that is not going away thanks to crazy weather! Pray I get well ASAP! Please continue to pray for the baby to develop correctly and in a healthy manner. We are so excited - yesterday marked the period of time in my last pregnancy when I started to miscarry, so there is a special sense of thankfulness that we have made it at least one day further! We know that is only because of God's grace and goodness - and we are so thankful that he has allowed us to be a part of the miracle He created! Thank you for all your prayers and support - we love you all!
