10 Months!

I know I say this with each monthly post - but time is flying by! Its hard to believe Kingston will be a year old soon! This week we celebrated his ten month birthday with some teething and a few trips to the city pool. Kingston is SUCH a curious and busy boy that our days of contentedly playing at home are long gone - so in an effort to keep him entertained I am trying to find more activities outside of our home to vary his life experiences. There is no MOPS or playgroups that I am aware of in our small town, so I may have to start one to meet up with some new mommies - and Kingston LOVES playing with other kids, so he would enjoy that as well. Here is the 10 month baby rundown:

Teeth: One in almost all the way up, and another broke the surface today. Most kids take 2-3 days for a tooth to come up - not my baby! It has taken each tooth 2 WEEKS to come up - I told my pediatrician I may not survive 22 teeth if they all take 2 weeks. :)

Eating: Kingston loves table food - and has yet to turn down any type of food. He prefers fruit, Gerber Cheese Puffs (he would eat an entire jar a day if I let him), Yogurt Melts, and green beans. He is not a big fan of meat, but we are working on it. I was hoping to start him on whole milk soon, but at my pediatrician's advice I will wait until a year (or so....).

Sleeping: On a great night I get 5 consecutive hours, on bad nights - much less. :)

New skills: Waving, climbing up stairs, nodding his head yes and no(he doesn't know what he means, he just imitates us), crawling under things, dancing, clapping - I know there is more going on but I can't remember right now! Crawling has reached blazing new speeds, and he loves to play chase and be chased.

Likes: Things that open/close (doors in particular), drawers, the door stops (strange but true), peek a boo, eating, books, drums, anything that makes noise!

Dislikes: Naps, sitting, anything that prevents him from crawling/pulling up. At the mall the other day I saw lots of sweet babies sitting peacefully in their strollers. My sweet baby wanted to help PUSH his stroller. At least I don't have to worry about him being inactive :)

We are loving this stage - he is so fun and his personality is really showing through! Enjoy the pics below!

This is what our living room looks like on a daily basis, after a day at home. Note- pillows and laundry baskets are used to try to corral Kingston into the living room - he tries to race into the kitchen to play in Belle's water bowl!

Emailing his friends...
I am torturing him by making him sit still for a picture....
He is brilliant! Already a reader! He LOVES Brainy Baby books (thanks Grandma Linda!)
