Fifteen days as parents and we have already made a call to
poison control and a visit to the ER (no worries, all is well -we just had to make sure he recovered from a severe choking episode one night!). The word exhausted does not even begin to describe the new level of tired are experiencing - no matter how much we tried to prepare, nothing could have fully described the demands of becoming parents to a new human being. On that same note, no one could have shared with us the full extent of joy that a sweet snuggle or glance from our son could bring to our hearts. We are crazy about him - crazy enough to drive around at 1 in the morning in an attempt to relieve his excessively gassy tummy, to sleep sitting up for hours because it brings him comfort, and to put him ahead of our own needs in ways we didn't know was possible. I am so thankful for a husband that is willing (and excited) to do anything and everything he can to help with our son and the household chores - we are truly a team, and I am so thankful that God blessed me with him to share life and parenthood with. Everyone says if you can make it through the first month then it gets better - we have 12 days to go - and while there are sure to be more bumps in the road and hurdles to jump, I think we are going to make it. We have had so much great help from friends and family that have made our lives so much easier - such a huge blessing, and such an exciting time to share with those we love. Please keep us in your prayers, and week look forward to sharing more updates and photos asap!
